OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR
Long Description:
Responsible for supervising hourly employees and executing production and logistics plans and overall operations of assigned area/shift to include: warehouse, labor relations, production, site security, quality, safety and regulatory compliance. Reports to the Operations Manager. Supervises the execution of production and logistics plans through operators and other hourly labor in production and warehouse functions. Contact is generally with individuals at all levels within the plant. Staff Size Varies. Decisions are impactful regarding the assigned area/shift in terms of plant performance, use of labor, safety, quality and Kelloggs and regulatory policies.
1. Responsible for directing and guiding operators and their activities in the execution of production and/or logistics plans. May be used as Maintenance Supervisor relief.
2. Participate in the development of and implements plans and policies to ensure compliance in all areas of responsibility. Operates production lines in accordance with FDA guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP/SQF program guidelines.
3. Responsible for team development of employees. Helps to develop new Operations Supervisors in all responsibilities and promote a positive attitude.
4. Responsible for problem solving process as determined by the established escalation process.
5. Responsible for support of Lean Training as directed by Operations Manager.
6. Administer the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement/work rules and company policies and procedures in a consistent manner, and provides input during planning and preparation for labor negotiations. Attempt to resolve grievance and disputes on the floor whenever possible.
7. Ensure adherence to all standard work processes, including K-LEAN processes
8. Participate in daily food review.
9. Responsible for supporting talent management process for hourly employees. Proactively engage in the development and training of hourly labor.
10. Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements Bachelors degree in a related field and 2 years related experience OR High School Diploma/GED plus a minimum of 5 years related work experience.

Operations/Production hours are 24 x 7 and requires working varying hours. This position may require approximately 5% travel and work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays. The incumbent is required to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment, understands and meets internal and external business needs with professionalism and a sense of urgency. Must be able to execute to plan in any of the production or warehouse areas/shifts. Must possess leadership and communication ability which encourages teamwork and idea generation while remaining focused on results and process improvement.
