PLANT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST
Long Description:
Support of production via technical expertise, trouble shooting of products and systems, execution of long term projects for process improvement and innovation, relief of Operations Managers and Supervisors and the development and training of Lean skills and tools. Partners with the Operations Department at all levels and reports directly to the Operations Manager. Manages projects on an "as needed" basis overseeing Supervisors and employees as required. Contacts are generally with individuals at all levels of the organization including upper and executive management roles. Interactions involve a wide variety of business issues. Operating Budget: Varies.Staff Size: Varies. Decisions are more significant, influencing overall program or project success, finances, and/or the ability to meet objectives.
1. Serve as end-to-end support for the processing, packaging, warehouse and maintenance functions in the Operations department. Provides plantwide technical expertise, support and trouble shooting of products and systems.
2. Ensure adherence to all standard work processes, including K-LEAN processes. Audits K-LEAN and Operational Processes.
3. Develop training of K-LEAN tools and skills. Attends Kaizen sessions within the Plant to provide guidance
4. Execute long term and complex projects for process improvement and innovation.
5. Leader for Step 3 of the escalation process.
6. Coordinate and support Kaizan activity throughout the facility.
7. Relief of other management personnel as needed (all 3 shifts) Various hours and shifts required as needed.
8. Responsible for managing budget of long term process improvement projects and innovation with supervision of the Operations Manager.
9. Responsible for compliance with all regulations. Food Safety - plant in proper sanitary condition at all times, including allergen control, pest control, guidelines followed. Compliance with food safety policies and procedures.
10. Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements Bachelors degree in a related field plus a minimum of 3 years relevant experience OR High School Diploma/GED plus a minimum of 6 years relevant experience.

Operations/Production hours are 24 x 7 and requires working varying hoursLimited travel is required (5 to 10%)The incumbent is required to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment, understands and meet internal and external business needs with professionalism and a sense of urgency. Must be able to balance conflicting priorities and still provide the Operations organization with clear direction and focus. Must possess leadership and communication ability which encourages teamwork and idea generation while remaining focused on results and process improvement
