Long Description:
Kellogg Company has an opportunity for a Product and Consumer Scientist in our Battle Creek, MI location.
This position is responsible for:
1. Works as a Business Partner, providing cross-functional support to project teams by designing, executing, analyzing, and reporting results of all test types (Descriptive profiling, Shelf-life testing, Chemistry Analysis, Discrimination testing, and Consumer testing) with minimal guidance from manager. Recommends appropriate project next steps based on results.
2. Provides Sensory and Shelf Life Program support in order to maintain department functions:
- Trains panelists
- Interfaces with I/T to maintain sensory and shelf life software
- Directs documentation of protocols & procedures
- Manages all aspects of a trained panel or functional program
- Responsible for supplier approvals and recommendations
- Prioritizes Requests
3. Investigates, develops, & implements new testing methodologies and/or opportunities for Research on Research.
4. Applies working knowledge of statistics as it applies to test design and data analysis.
5. Applies working knowledge of food chemistry, packaging, and product development as it applies to sensory and shelf life testing.
6. Assimilates sensory and market research data in order to provide consumer insights to the product development process.
7. Interacts with staff for cross-functional shared learning8. Assumes mentoring role for College Intern
Position Requirements H.S.degree/GED; and 8 years experience in food science, sensory or consumer research, or related field. OR Bachelors Degree in Food Science, or related field; and 6 years of experience in a consumer/sensory research environment, product development, quality, market research, or related field required.
Masters Degree in Food Science, Sensory, or related field; and 2 years of experience in a consumer/sensory research environment, product development, quality, market research, or related field preferred.
No supervisory/managerial experience is required.
