Summary:
The basic function of the Mechanic is to install, troubleshoot, clean, inspect, and maintain mechanical equipment throughout the power plant facility in a safe and professional manner.

Essential Functions:
1. Monitors and maintains facility equipment to ensure safe and efficient equipment and facility operation.
2. Performs preventive and repair maintenance procedures safely and professionally with minimal supervision in accordance with Federal and State Regulations, and Company Work Rules, Policies and Procedures.
3. Initiates and completes work-orders and requisitions, and documents all critical and or pertinent information on a routine basis.
4. Responds and reports to work during off hours when emergency repairs are required.
5. Travels to other facilities with-in the Company when technical support is required.
6. Takes proactive measures to address improvement opportunities.
7. Assumes increased levels of responsibility when required or requested. Performs lesser skilled duties when required or requested.
8. Complete the Corporate and Plant Training Programs within the time frame prescribed.
9. Identifies and effectively uses basic and precision measuring tools to calculate and determine lengths, surface areas, and volumes as necessary while performing maintenance tasks on a routine basis.
10. Follows standard safety procedures, correct safety and environmental hazards, and report them to the Shift Supervisor immediately. Reads, understands, and applies information such as lockout/tagout procedures, safety rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
11. Works overtime.
12. Works rotating shifts, if requested.
13. Communicates clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing; as well as communicate clearly whether using in-situ intercom system, two-way radio or face to face.
14. Anticipates typical problems, identify potential or recurring problems, and takes appropriate action. Troubleshoots equipment, diagnoses problems and repairs.
15. Operates other equipment including, but not limited to, industrial forklifts, manlifts, skid steer type loaders, and other mobile equipment.


Qualifications


Education/Experience:

Class 1st 2nd 3rd 4th
Education High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent
Experience Minimum of 8 years experience in the Industrial or Power Industry Maintenance Field, or a minimum of 2 years experience as a 2nd class Mechanic Minimum of 5 years experience in the Industrial or Power Industry Maintenance Field, or a minimum of 2 years experience as a 3rd class Mechanic Minimum of 3 years of Mechanical Experience, or a minimum of 1 year experience as a 4th class Mechanic None Required
