Long Description:
merica’s leading feed company, providing producers, cooperatives and dealers with an extensive line of animal feed, ingredients and services.
Position Purpose: As our Shift Supervisor for our animal feed plant, you will be responsible for all functions of plant operation during this shift.
Responsibilities include:
o Supervising employees in general plant production.
o Enforcement of plant and corporate rules and policies (Attendance policy, Quality rules and guidelines, Safety Program, etc).
o Occasional loading and unloading of trucks.
o Production Scheduling and Production Sequencing.
o Occasional testing of incoming ingredients.
o EHS training for 2nd shift employees.
o Maintaining inventories for Packaging Supplies.
o Continual Improvement and Plant Productivity.
o Employee relations and development.
o Work Order Maintenance.
o Facility Housekeeping.
Required (Basic) Experience & Education High school or technical degree. 4-year college degree with two plus years Feed experience with supervisory.
Required Competencies & Other Skills Must possess leadership and supervisory skills, strong communication/interpersonal skills, decision making and problem solving skills, and the ability to plan and organize.
Must possess a mechanical aptitude, demonstrated computer skills, and the ability to evaluate processes.
Must be able to work as part of a team
Preferred Experience & Education Two years experience in feed production with supervisory experience. 4-year degree (Ag background).
Preferred Competencies & Other Skills Computer literacy with Microsoft Office and production operating systems. Must possess a mechanical aptitude, demonstrated computer skills, and the ability to evaluate processes.
