Responsibilities and Requirements : Patrol work & respond to crimes and calls for services. Enforce laws of State of Idaho & Kootenai County. Other special assignments are available following one-year introductory period.Minimum High School Diploma/GED, valid Driver's License & minimum of two years responsible work experience. Basic keyboarding, good verbal communication, legible handwriting, ability to pass P.O.S.T. physical agility, psychological evaluation and P.O.S.T. medical exam, including hearing and vision requirements. Thorough background investigation and polygraph prior to employment. Carrying of a firearm a requirement of position. If not certified, employee will be sponsored to a 10-week law enforcement academy (POST) in Meridian.
