Description
Components Research is a strategically-placed group of researchers within Intel's worldwide Technology and Manufacturing group (TMG) responsible for delivering leading-edge R&D solutions on all aspects of semiconductor processing and packaging. Components Research is looking for top ranking students currently enrolled in their Ph.D. track programs to drive results-focused, 3-4 month programs in all areas of semiconductor processing, integration and design research. Behavioral traits for these internships include: Excellent written and verbal communication, strong teamwork, highly motivated, and self-directed.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for these positions. Experience would be obtained through your PhD research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experience. Start dates for these positions will range from January through June timeframe:

Minimum qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled fulltime in a Ph.D. program with a graduation date later then December 1st, 2010.
- Must be in one of the following programs of study: electrical engineering, computer engineering, chemical engineering, material science, chemistry, mechanical engineering, physics, optics or microelectronics engineering.
- Minimum completion of, at least, the 1st year of the PhD program.
- 1+yrs experience/exposure with experiment methodology to include the ability to devise experiments.

Preferred qualifications:
- 1+yrs experience with Integrated-circuit design, semiconductor processing (lithography, diffusion, thin films, etch, metallization, CVD, or planarization) or device physics.
- At least one 1st author publication.
- Unrestricted right to work in the US without requiring sponsorship.
