Position Summary:
We are seeking a talented, results driven sales professional for Area Sales Manager - Association Market This position will be selling all Kimpton properties in the Washington DC market. Additional responsibilities inlcude but are not limited to:

* Responsible for achieving both assigned market room night/revenue budget along with the top-line revenue goals for the hotels supported.
* Must be familiar with hotels' competitive set and shared accounts.
* Generates data, analyzes and recommends strategies and actions within assigned territory to impact business and successfully gain market share.
* Consistently and regularly reviews and analyzes industry hotel intelligence reports with goal to develop strategies to gain market share.
* Remains current on industry trends and seeks creative ways to infiltrate potential new accounts.
* Maintain appropriate balance of account maintenance and prospecting for new business.
* Establishes and maintains effective and profitable relationships with customers.
* Consults with City DOSM to incorporate marketing strategies into sales strategies, where appropriate.
* Organizes and actively participates in sales solicitation trips and attends market-specific tradeshows, as assigned by City Director of Sales & Marketing.
* Joins and attends appropriate professional sales organizations.
* Prepares for and activity participates in weekly sales meetings.

Required Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years hotel sales experience in the Association market in a boutique or luxury hotel setting. Strong successful selling skills including prospecting are required. Knowledge of Delphi and experience working reader board services are a plus. The ideal candidate must also possess excellent organizations and verbal and written communication skills.
