Short Description:
Process Development Engineer
Long Description:
Process Development Engineer
Tracking Code 2342 Job Description This position will contribute to the development of new proprietary variable printing processes. This position will be mainly hands-on/experimental in nature. Position focuses on the investigation and improvement of the basic chemical and physical processes occurring within proprietary variable print processes. This position will work closely with other disciplines to refine and develop the robustness and reliability of the technology. Responsibilities: * This individual will contribute in the testing and development of jet inks, jettable solutions, and the optimization of inkjet processes. Position requires ability to understand and outline basic process test parameters using good experimental design. * Designs test methods, collects and interprets experimental data, recommends and designs improvements to system and subsystem processes. * Uses test results to identify key process parameters, as well as outlining necessary experimental and engineering steps to specify a robust system or subsystem design. * Sets time-tables and milestones for assigned project tasks, and coordinates testing processes with other engineers & scientists. * Identification, planning, leading, and analyzing experimental results. Required Skills * Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics required. * 3-5 years of experiencing with progressively expanding responsibility in the development of commercial technology, with a main emphasis on the physical and chemical processes underlying the technology. * Strong experimental skills, as well as the ability to identify key test conditions needed to characterize an exisiting or new chemical/physical process. * Extensive experience with prototype electromechanical systems, and chemical and material process development are needed for this position (3-5 years). * Experience in Designed Experimental (DOE) procedures and methods a plus. * Experience in chemistry and physics of fluids (e.g., jet inks) highly desirable.
