Job Description

The Quality Assurance Analyst III will be responsible to the analysis, and execution of QA / software testing on various customer facing applications, as part of the Customer Facing IT department. Primary focus will be quality assurance of the CustomPoint application, but responsibilities may also eventually span into other customer facing systems. The person would be working closely with the existing CustomPoint offshore QA team, as well as Product Owners, Business Analysts, Customer Integration and Development staff who would be responsible for the customer facing systems

CustomPoint is a large, proprietary, Java J2EE based, mission critical Enterprise Internet system that delivers RR Donnelley's Total Print Management services to the customer's desktop.
Required Skills

1. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
2. Develop, define, and continually improve quality assurance testing procedures utilized.
3. Conduct quality assurance testing to ensure that software functions properly and according to the business standards and end-user specifications and requirements.
4. Re-test problem that were fixed to ensure software functions to specification.
5. Promote cooperation, negotiation and communication among and within teams.
6. Identify process improvement suggestions for implementation across the testing organization
7. Lead in the design and development of test beds and implement processes for updating test beds.
8. Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
9. Work with on-site and offshore QA resources to execute test cases and analyze results.
10. Quickly adopt in-depth knowledge of critical systems.
11. Work directly with the development and product teams in order to be aware of upcoming functionality in new releases of the software.
12. Participate in the evaluation process by providing feedback (written or verbal) to the manager/leader.
13. Communicate status by creating weekly or regular written status reports
14. Establish reusable test bed and associated process utilizing automated testing tools.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Assist in the preparation of “Knowledge Sharing” presentation materials in order to educate our user community on CustomPoint functionality.
2. Assist in team cross training sessions

Required Experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor degree in discipline related to functional work or role with 5-7 years of relevant work experience OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.
2. Able to apply broad work experience and knowledge when analyzing complex problems.
3. Must be able consistently identify critical elements, variables and alternatives to develop solutions.
4. Must be able to organize/prioritize existing resources and incorporate new information, as needed, to implement the most effective solutions.
5. Able to communicate clearly and courteously with those who need to know of decisions/actions/problems.
6. Able to apply excellent business acumen and collaborative skills when resolving problems.
7. Able to explain programs policies and procedures in language that is understood by others.

14. Knowledge of automated testing tools, with preference towards IBM’s Rational Functional Tester software.
15. Knowledge of RRD CustomPoint is a plus.
16. Knowledge of additional RR Donnelley systems is a plus.
17. Some software development background is a plus.
18. Experience with SQL or able to execute data queries is a plus.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1. 5+ years in QA roles supporting SDLC of development projects
2. 2+ years of project management or resource management roles

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. CQA, CSQA and/or CSTE certification a strong plus.
