Job Description
SUMMARY
Responsible for setting up and operating of flexographic printing press to produce final printed product that meets quality expectations and production efficiencies as set forth by the customer and the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Set up and operates flexographic printing press to print graphics on rolls of customer specified material by performing the following duties:
Pressman reads entire job ticket for information required for the set up and running of job.
Retrieve all necessary components (print cylinders and dies) from the press ready table.
Retrieve necessary inks from the ink vault.
Mount proper anilox, plate cylinders and dies to print stations.
Filll ink fountains with proper ink.
When work is sheeted or slit set up the mechanical of either set up.
Start press and progressively register plates on press.
Register the die to the print.
Check printed copy against the approved sample proof for the job.
Stop press when register and print quality is achieved, and start the 1st piece approval process.
After 1st piece approval has ben approved start press and follow in process inspection.
Required Skills
Previous experience in the operation of a printing press or work in a printing environment preferred. Preferred experience running a digital press (ie. HP Indigo).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Education, GED or equivalent.
·Some knowledge of press techniques used in printing to produce finished printed materials preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write and speak in the English language to the extent necessary to effectively communicate or interpret instruction.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out basic written or oral instructions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Employee may work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Expect to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds and regularly lift up to 50 pounds
