Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE: Perform entry-level production skills necessary for the quality operation of web offset printing equipment, including jogging, roll tending, folder tending, and assistance during make-ready.



SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Uniformly jog and hand-palletize banded and loose signatures off the folder, adjust stobbs, and advise necessary personnel of pallet, banding and other supply shortages.

Change ink barrels and clean and maintain ink pumps as required.

Operate various folders within the pressroom.

Assist as needed in mounting plates/blankets, registering and perform maintenance on press equipment.

Promote the concept of working together as a team and with other departments to build continual improvement within the company.

As a Press Operator III, the employee must satisfactorily complete, or show competence in the following modules of the Pressman's Craftsmanship program:

Required Skills

The ability to work in a team environment is required.
Required Experience

EDUCATION: REQUIRED—High school diploma or GED.

EXPERIENCE: REQUIRED: Must be able to learn and understand jogging, roll tending, assisting crew during make-readies, actively participate in production related activities and follow the directions of the top press operators.

QUALIFICATIONS: Able to read, write and comprehend written instructions and basic arithmetic functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must have color perception (cannot be color defective or color blind). Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
