Position Summary

Manage the Production Art function relating to global packaging projects. Partner with Sales and Structural Designers to develop production solutions for retail packaging.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

* Interface with senior level clients to ensure consistency on brand imaging and messaging.
* Grow packaging design and art production capability throughout a growing organization.
* Ability to create separation ready packaging and labeling artwork for a broad range of primary and secondary packaging types and formats – boxes, cans, shrink wraps, labels, flexible packaging.
* Ability to technically and creatively develop process and standards of packaging business nationwide.Create specific instructions for the off-site art production team to ensure efficient execution of each project.
* Understanding creative briefs and style guides and having the ability to translate these documents into clear instructions for the art production team.Pro-actively participates in discussing design projects with sales, customers, outside vendors and other departments.
* Facilitate project timeline management, monitors and initiates project tracking updates. Accountable for timely identification and resolution of issues.
* Performs work that is technically advanced. Responsible for solving highly technical or complex problems on a regular basis.


Required Experience

QUALIFICATIONS

* 5+ years experience in managing and executing multilingual packaging designs and artwork for national brand and private label food, beverage and consumer packaged goods.
* Comprehensive experience in managing branding/packaging systems.
* Experience working with vendors and printers overseas
* Knowledge of FDA and USDA guidelines as they pertain to package graphics and labeling requirements
* Experience in planning and execution of photography.
* Travel 50% - including international
* This position can be based in Chicago, New York or Seattle.
