The Regulatory Organization at Monsanto Company is hiring a Field Agronomist who will be stationed at the Thomasboro, IL facility and will grow experiments to support the submission and registration of our biotech traits pipeline. Experiments will be grown in accordance with Excellence through Stewardship practices and guidelines and are regulated by USDA/APHIS. Trial conduct must be in strict accordance with all federal, state and local requirements.
The successful candidate must possess a unique combination of skills including outstanding applied agronomic experience; attention to detail that enables the conduct of high quality experiments per required protocol and committed to following strict data collection parameters. The candidate must also be self motivated and capable of managing a complex field program across crops and across field locations. The successful candidate must be an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
The candidate will work closely with colleagues across different organizations within Monsanto including Breeding, Breeding Technology, Regulatory Agronomy, Regulatory Environmental Assessment, Regulatory Pipeline Management and Regulatory Affairs. Responsibilities will include working with the Agronomy and Environmental Assessment Team to design, implement and conduct experiments across locations. The candidate must also be detail oriented, self motivated and willing to work in a team-based atmosphere.

Qualifications

The candidate must have either a MS degree or a BS degree with 3 to 5 years of experience in applied agronomic sciences of agronomy, soil science, entomology, plant pathology, weed science or plant breeding. Excellent computer skills are essential including MS Office and field trial management software.
