Description
Monsanto is seeking an highly skilled and motivated Operations Maintenance Associate to support the Multi Season Programs based on Maui. In this role, you are involved in all facets of routine and preventive maintenance, and repairs of state of the art farming equipment and machinery on our sites. Additionally, you would be responsible for supervising a team of technicians who support equipment repairs for the various nursery programs. The Maintenance Associates are key members of our team enhancing the value and usefulness of our facilities and equipment.
Responsibilities:
* Supervise maintenance technicians and participate in repair and maintenance of farm equipment and machinery.
* Maintain records of repair and maintenance of equipment and machinery.
* Lead in the identification of safety issues relating to facilities, shop, equipment, tools and work area.
* Lead in the care and maintenance of facilities, shop, equipment, and shop tools required to carry out work duties.
* Provide support for the Monsanto Station safety program by adhering to all safety policies and procedures and attending regular scheduled company safety meetings.
* Supervise and assist in carrying out other duties as assigned.
* Actively participates in Monsanto ESH Safety Program.
* Work with other groups within Monsanto to develop consistency and cost savings.
* Calibrate equipment to meet ISO 9002 requirements.
* Perform any other tasks as assigned by Operations Management.
* Maintain inventory of parts and supplies needed to maintain and repair equipment at the station.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
* High school diploma/GED and/or 5+ years mechanical experience.
* 3+ years experience supervising employees in the maintenance and repair of equipment.
* Extensive knowledge of farm equipment use and repairs.
* Knowledge of safe tool use.
* Knowledge of record keeping for equipment maintenance and repair required by OSHA.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to lift up to 40LBS.
* Ability to function as a team member.
Desired Skills/Experience
* Associates Degree in a relevant field of study.
