Corn Commercial Breeding Intern (Greenville, OH)-000Q8
Description
Monsanto Plant Breeding Interns receive hands-on experience at one of our North American corn breeding locations. During this paid, 3-month summer assignment, students gain exposure not only to the Plant Breeding function, but also to the other related Monsanto functions such as Marker Labs, Seed Production Plants, and Transgenic Development groups.
At the completion of the internship, each Intern presents her/his findings to an audience of peers and to Monsanto Breeding Team Leads. End of Summer Presentations are hosted at a designated Monsanto site, where Interns network with scientists and learn more about future career opportunities at Monsanto.
Daily transportation to the Monsanto site is required and will be the responsibility of the Intern. Any required off-site travel will be provided by Monsanto. Extended hours can be expected during peak season; overnight travel is rare, but may be required.
The Monsanto Plant Breeding Intern Program is committed to providing Interns with the unique opportunity to gain a practical, first-hand understanding of Monsanto's commercial plant breeding program. Plant Breeding Interns receive the guidance of Site Supervisors who outline general responsibilities, provide regular feedback, assist in project assignment and completion, and arrange for the intern to receive opportunities to visit other functions.
