Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
The Major Gifts Officer for Monmouth Medical Center will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining solicitation and stewardship activities for major donors. Plans and implements special events for cultivation, solicitation and recognition of donors. Develops and maintains donor relationships through donor recognition programs such as acknowledgement correspondence, plaguing naming and publications. Interacts with many constituencies including donors, employees, physicians and community members. The officer will be responsible for managing prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, recognition and relationship building leading to major gifts. Once a major gift is made, the officer will then be responsible for assuring proper stewardship of the gift and continuing activities to sustain the relationship. Writes grants and proposals to further develop Foundation and Corporate funding sources. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.Bachelor degree. Must have a minimum of five years of proven and progressively responsible development experience. Must have three years of major gift experience. Must possess refined oral and written communications skills. Must be personable, articulate and diplomatic; able to motivate individuals and groups. Strong organizational skills; deadline and timeline driven project experience. Knowledge and familiarity with computerized donor management software. Ability to use word processing computer software.
