Description
We are seeking an innovative plant transformation biologist to fill the positon of a Corn Transformation scientist. The candidate will work to design experiments aimed at system improvements related to the production of quality transgenic plants. The candidate will be a member of a multidisciplinary team and aid in proposing, testing, integrating and maintaining a high throughput transgenic corn plant pipeline. Responsibilities include regular communication of research results to other team members, presentations for team meetings, and ability to work cross functionally with Monsanto's wide range of functional teams.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in plant biology, cell biology or related field. Post-doctoral or applicable industrial experience is desired. The candidate must have a strong technical knowledge in plant tissue culture and Agrobacterium mediated transformation. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills coupled with demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Desired:

A strong technical knowledge of monocot tissue culture and Agrobacterium mediated transformation of elite germplasm is preferred. Experience working in goal-oriented, team environment is preferred. Experience with automation is a plus and post-doctoral experience is preferred.
