Description
We currently have a District Sales Manager (DSM) position available in the East Central Iowa territory. This role is with Channel Bio, a Brand within the Seed and Trait US Commercial Organization of Monsanto.
A successful DSM will be able to achieve district business goals including: corn and soybean sales growth, enrich product mix, increase contribution to profit, new grower acquisition and strategic market development, manage district requirements including product stewardship, customer service and financial administration, complete and execute district market plan in concert with company direction and strategy and work closely with sales management to achieve long term growth within the district.
Responsibilities include:
DSM would assigned a specific sales territory which may include specific current growers.
DSM is expected to work with sales team, sales management, agronomists and customer service representatives in order to earn the number one position with the grower.
DSMs will be measured on sales volumes, territory contribution to profit, corn trait mix, grower satisfaction, new grower acquisition, and grower retention.
DSMs are expected to manage their district in accordance with company policy which include: being safe in all aspects of the position, working with the utmost integrity and conducting business in an ethical manner.
DSM must learn the ability to place and service products with growers.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent work experience
2+ years of sales experience
Agriculture knowledge base would be beneficial
Strong oral, written and presentation skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Time and territory management abilities.
Proven problem solver.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously.
Must be able to attend and fully participate in national, regional and team meetings.
Travel is expected to be 80% on the road daily meeting with customers with the remaining 20% used for planning, preparation and training.
Overnight stays are normally limited to attending company meetings.
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs if necessary (a bag of seed)
Ability to pass driving record background check (i.e. moving violations, accidents, license suspension, etc.).
Federal regulations from the Department of Transportation cover this position and mandate the passing of certain pre-employment requirements, such as a background check, drug test and physical.
