Description
Monsanto is passionate about using science and technology to improve agriculture. Monsanto scientists conduct the research and development (R&D) to revolutionize plant breeding and biotechnology.
The Technology Pipeline Solutions (TPS) team within IT works directly with Monsanto scientists to develop software platforms that enable research and development efforts. This opportunity would allow the accepted candidate to directly contribute to delivering state-of-the art IT solutions. The successful candidate will be a member of the TPS team within Monsanto to test enterprise-level Java, .Net, and Oracle applications.
Each team is comprised of a project manager, business analysts, software developers and testers. The teams design, develop, and test Monsanto's enterprise-class R&D software. The individual will be responsible for performing integration and system testing for each iteration of the development life cycle. The individual will need to implement test scripts based on requirements created by the Business Analyst. The tester is responsible for logging the defects identified during testing.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
* A BS in Computer Science, Agronomy, Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Plant Breeding, Molecular Breeding, Plant Sciences or an equivalent degree.
* An understanding of the software development life-cycle.
* Six months to three years of experience as a tester in an IT testing organization. Individuals with at least one semester or summer of experience working as an intern or co-op in a QA/testing role will also be considered.
* Solid SQL skills.
Strong organizational, written, oral communication and problem solving skills.
Desired:
Experience or familiarity with the Worksoft Certify testing tool.
