Description
The Global Pipeline Regulatory Team is seeking Regulatory Pipeline Managers who will lead the development and implementation of regulatory strategies and data to obtain U.S. and global regulatory approvals for Monsanto's pipeline products, including agronomic, yield and stress, and quality traits. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in the Regulatory Technology Centers, Regulatory Affairs, and Regulatory Project Management, as well as Biotechnology Crop Teams and Breeding. In addition to leading the development and implementation of regulatory strategies, the individual will collaborate with the members of the Technology Centers and Regulatory Affairs to design and conduct studies and prepare submissions to support product registrations in the U.S., other key production countries, and their export markets. This position plays a pivotal role in the overall success of Monsanto product development and registration strategies, and thus requires in-depth knowledge of strategic scientific technologies and global regulatory policies and regulations. This is a key leadership position within the Regulatory organization, requiring strong matrix management skills across domestic and international groups within Monsanto, as well as excellent written and oral communications skills. Some international travel can be expected.

Qualifications


An advanced degree (MS/PhD) or relevant experience in one of the biological or food sciences and excellent written/oral communication and organizational skills are required. Work in the area of biotechnology traits with strong technical background in biotechnology skills is needed. The successful candidate must be able to take the initiative in a team-based environment to lead teams and organize data and information effectively, write clear and convincing reports, work with customers to meet timelines and needs, demonstrate effective project management skills and interact with a wide diversity of people. Detail-oriented individuals with experience in agricultural biotechnology, biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, agronomy, or regulatory are preferred.



Desired Skills:

Experience and/or an understanding of regulatory processes for biotechnology products would be considered a plus; Strong oral and writing skills in a foreign language such as Japanese, Spanish, or Portuguese are also desired
