Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
The Accountant-Analyst provides general ledger accounting support to American Public Media Group (parent company of ) and/or its affiliated entities' treasury management, payroll / fringe benefit, commerce and support service activities.- Provide accounting and general ledger support for all assigned accounts- Reconcile assigned bank and merchant accounts for review- Assist with the daily treasury management functions- Provide accounting support for e-commerce, direct merchandising, retail, and support service activities- Ensure accurate and timely processing and administration of the corporate credit card program- Prepare supporting schedules for year-end audit and tax returns for review- Integrate and extract data to / from APMG's financial applications- Provide administrative support for business insurance needs process requests for certificates of insurance, assist with accounting needs during policy renewal period- Record, classify and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles- Question and research outliers and prepare recommendations- Identify any concerns that may cause a material weakness or surprise in any of our financial systems or internal controls; work to resolve any identified concerns with the supervisor.- Other special projects as assignedReq's- BA degree, preferably in accounting or finance- 1-3 yrs of related accounting experience- Working understanding of fundamental accounting concepts- Self-starter with strong organizational skills - ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines- Strong oral and written communication skills- Maintain high standards of customer service and professional ethics- Effective oral and written communication skills- Possess analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills- Knowledge of Lawson software pref'd.
