Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

As an integral member of the Long John Silver’s Marketing Team, you will: Become a key member on the Calendar Team of the QSR Seafood Category Leader and of the world’s largest restaurant company. As part of that team, the Associate Manager will take on a critical role in both product testing and nationally televised sales event promotions. The candidate should aspire to and have the ability to develop into further leadership roles within the marketing team. As an Associate Manager, you’ll provide leadership to cross functional team members to ensure alignment and high performance in the accomplishment of all responsibilities and projects. You will provide insight and thought-leadership into the strategy and positioning for LJS and all key projects assigned to you.





JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Lead cross function teams through the development, test and launch of new product and sustaining products ensuring flawless execution.
* Play integral role in the validation of consumer needs via the DEDVIM stage gate process including concept writing, positioning defining and creative strategy development.
* Lead the development and execution of marketing plans including leading the Merchandising/POP and print execution as well as provide thought-leadership into broadcast advertising.
* Manage timelines for assigned initiatives and ensure all team members are aware and held accountable to meet these timelines.
* Accountable for daily promotional sales event tracking and Calendar Team ad-hoc reporting needs
* Develop National store-level communication tool including determining optimal vehicle and method of communication



WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

* Cross-functional teammates in Food Innovation; Operations; Training; Supply Chain and Finance
* Franchise Marketing Leaders and LJS Franchise Advisory Board and Marketing Committees
* External Agencies – advertising, PR, design, research, trademark, etc.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising or related field required. MBA preferred.

EXPERIENCE (and other qualifications):

* 5+ years in corporate or agency environment, retail oriented, post degree.
* Exposure to all facets of modern marketing management (sales forecasting, advertising, sales promotion, product development, pricing, research, etc.) required.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

* Excellent interpersonal skills.

* Evidence of creative and strategic thinking.
* Ability to adapt to new experiences.
* Understanding of key financial parameters (related to Franchisees)

* Strategic and analytical thinker with experience in analyzing and interpreting complex data
* Must have strong bias for action and demonstrated desire for ownership

* Identify and anticipate needs of the system and be able to proactively seek out ways to improve
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization as well as franchisees and external business partners
