Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Develop, write, and manage production and distribution of training materials for sales events, product pipeline and equipment tests, and special projects.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Develop, write, and edit training materials for sales events, product pipeline and equipment tests, and special projects (60%)
* Training materials may include reference guides, procedure documents, job aids, videos, photographs, e-learning modules and leader and participant guides
* Partner with cross-functional subject matter experts to document procedures and programs
* Translate operational processes into simple and engaging training content and graphics for restaurant teams
* Act as the lead Training representative on cross-functional / core project teams
* Assist senior Training Developers to develop and edit content, as necessary
2. Manage production, cascade, and distribution of training materials for sales events, product pipeline and equipment tests, and special projects (20%)
* Work directly with vendors, negotiating and coordinating printing and shipping
* Partner with cross-functional subject matter experts to ensure on time delivery of content
* Lead field training cascade and respond to requests or questions from franchisees
3. Knowledge Management – standards, core curriculum, and other training material (10%)
* Evaluate effectiveness of training programs through surveys, round tables, field visits, and other performance metrics; make changes accordingly
* Partner with operations to maintain operations manual
- Develop new or updated content as requested
- Manage the online updates of materials on brand portals
4. Inventory Management (10%)
* Manage training material inventory
- Partner with distribution center to choose cost effective reprint options
- Review yearly catalogue and website
- Manage the obsolescence of out of date materials
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:
* BS/BA degree required, graduate degree in Instructional Design preferred
EXPERIENCE (and other qualifications):
* 2+ years instructional design and development experience; work samples required
* Restaurant operations and/or franchisee experience is a plus
* Expert in Word, experience with Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, Lectora Trivantis, and Photoshop, a plus
* Strong writing and organizational skills
* Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, within tight deadlines
* Able to do detailed and accurate proofreading and editing
* Knowledge of adult learning theories
* Able to create learning objectives and measure performance against them
* Experience selecting instructional methods
* Able to work well with a team and individually as a self starter
* Distance learning/e-learning experience is not required but considered a plus
