Primary Job Responsibilities



The successful candidate is responsible to manage his/her respective discipline, and achieve the following objectives:

· Ensure effective operations leading to the achievement of corporate objectives in accordance with stated policies and procedures. Establish, implement and maintain operating standards to ensure quality project results, customer satisfaction and repeat business.

· Develop policies and procedures appropriate to the daily operation of the unit’s projects.

· Support the business development function in the acquisition of new business.

· Support the Senior Management in the Refining and Specialty Chemical Businesses on an ongoing basis.

· Ensure that individuals identified in the plan assigned to him, receive the training, mentoring and job experience exposure needed to develop.

· Recruit, select and assign proficient Engineering/Design personnel for assignments ensuring quality and timely completion of projects. Obtain function support from other departments and collaborate with department heads to effectively utilize the services of shared personnel.

· Assist in developing a performance unit’s strategy consistent with the overall company strategy.

· As a member of the senior staff, uphold all corporate policies and programs in accordance with defined Standards of Conduct. Comply with all applicable State and Federal laws regarding equal employment opportunity. · Represent the performance unit and project a positive image to key customers and industry groups enhancing the competitive position of the corporation.

· Create growth opportunities by communicating job expectations, continually monitoring performance and evaluating job results of the assigned staff. Conduct performance evaluations; develop objectives and recommends salary adjustments. Enhance the technical development of staff by assessing training needs and providing opportunities to improve skills.

· Develop and maintain technical competencies to support business objectives. Provides direction and instruction based on project needs. Maintain knowledge of industry trends through research, professional publications and participation in professional societies.

· Comply with legal requirements by remaining abreast of existing and new legislation and ensuring adherence to technical requirements and standards.

· 10 years of experience in the Refining and Specialty Chemical industry with, construction experience is preferred

· Experience in a management position, with increasingly responsible assignments.

· Requires broad technical knowledge covering multiple disciplines.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary.

· Ability to relate to clients, executives and staff.

· Proven ability to provide guidance and leadership to staff.

· Ability to assume greater responsibility in the future.

* Participates in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects:
* May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering task.


Training and Experience



* 10+ years of Project Management experience required, BS or MS in Instrumentation, Process Controls or electrical engineering. Professional Engineer license is preferred
* Project Controls experience is preferable
* Expertise in Safety Instrumented Systems
* Expertise in Safety Integrity Level Analysis
* TUV training is preferable
* Relationship based values
* Refining and Chemical Processing experience is a must
