Description

The Department Director is a professional associate who maintains the management function for one or more departments. The Department Director reports through the Chief Nursing Officer to the organization. The Department Director manages the day-to-day function of his/her department and maintains 24-hour accountability for its function, productivity and quality. The Department Director initiates and ensures the maintenance of performance improvement, departmental customer satisfaction and staff competency, physician and staff satisfaction.



Qualifications

EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/SKILLS PREFERRED:
At least 5 years nursing experience preferred
BSN, MSN preferred
Excellent communication - both oral and written
Change - agent
Accepts accountability for actions
Leadership style conducive to quality care
Maintains high visibility in Department making themselves available to patients, staff and physician needs
Maintains clinical competencies as required

EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/SKILLS PREFERRED/REQUIRED:
RN: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama -or-
RT(R): Registered Radiology Technologist -or-
RCIS: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.
