Primary Job Responsibilities
Senior engineer independently applies advanced engineering techniques and analysis within the discipline as related to the building design and construction industry. Develops and manages project scope, manpower, and budgets within the discipline; manages a team within discipline to execute projects; leads design of power, lighting, and communications systems; develops specifications and technical documents related to assigned projects; contributes to project proposals; develops designs that require innovation and ingenuity. Work is performed with minimal supervision; has considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Performs calculations and evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for commercial applications. Participates in planning, cost development, management, and scheduling for assigned projects. Directs activities to ensure that design conforms to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements. Maintains effective communication with project team members and with the customer. May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering task.
Training and Experience
7-10 years of experience required in building design and construction; BS, BAE, MS or MAE in electrical engineering discipline; PE registration required; Active DoD TS-SCI clearance required.
