Primary Job Responsibilities
Read and interpret Requests for Proposals. Coordinate with other members of cross-functional team to prepare cost proposals for engineering and construction projects for the Federal Government. Develop pricing and narratives and/or exhibits explaining pricing methodology and rationale. Support negotiations and TINA certifications.
A key aspect of this position is responsibility for making important policy implementation decisions. These decisions have direct bearing on profitability, compliance, client relations, competitive positioning, etc.
Training and Experience
Bachelor's Degree or MBA. a minimum of 3 years work experience in one or more of the following specialties within the Government Contracts field:
* Project Accounting
* Cost Accounting, General Accounting
* Cost Estimating (Pricing)
* Auditing
* Contract Administration
Knowledge of FAR cost and pricing concepts required; knowledge of CAS and GAAP concepts preferred; proficiency in Excel required. High importance placed on written communication skills.
Other Essential Functions
Postion requires excellent writing . The Pricing function has need for fully-developed series of written documents which describe its pricing philosophy and procedures. Examples of topics for which written descriptions are required range from treatment of cost contingencies to development of raw labor rates. Approximately a dozen such written descriptions are required. These descriptions will come to represent official company procedure in regard to the topics they address.
Position will also involve some duties related to G&A/Overhead rate development and reporting.
