Primary Job Responsibilities
Great opportunity to lead ground floor development for expanding business with multi-national Engineering/Construction firm. We seek a leader/ for an Area Manager role who has a passion for Rail/Transportaion Construction Management and who has been effective developing relationships with City,County and State building authorities. This executive will lead our brand in The Mid Atlantic area in addition to supporting the operational and business development activities for multiple business lines. The primary responsibilities for this role will include:
* Originating the strategic vision and investment for the office in coordination with regional and divisional managers
* Developing the office business plan and growth strategy in coordination with the regional and divisional managers
* Managing the Profit/Loss performance of projects in accordance with " as sold metrics "
* Maintaining community presence and visibility through membership and participation in various professional, civic and business organizations as well as other appropriate means
* General business development and marketing focus, while ensuring client care and feedback to maintain high quality performance of the office
* Establishing new local units in coordination with regional and divisional managers and ensures maximum collaboration among local units
* Identifying and evaluating potential staff to execute projects
* Oversight of the negotiation of project contracts at the local level
* Management and oversight of office administrative functions (IT, HR, Marketing, Accounting) and facilities management
* Participates in resource planning and recruiting processes

Uses technical and economic developments to grow services; actively manages and shares this knowledge

Identifies opportunities to grow, diversify and differentiate Jacobs’ product offerings

Takes ownership for project success: delivery of target quality, cost management and customer satisfaction

Proactively uses Jacobs tools and methodologies to drive productivity and growth
*
Models Jacobs safety excellence; proactive in identification of and closure of gaps; measures safety performance
*
Effectively communicates (verbal and written) expertise to peers and customers, and facilitates communications across multi-party activities; helps others develop these skills
Training and Experience
This position requires a minimum of fifteen years experience in an Engineering, Construction Management or Construction Organization and a BS or MS degree in a related field. Ideal candidate will have broad Rail/Transportation experience to include local rail in addition to exposure to National Rail/Transportation clients. This leader must be able to demonstrate strong community involvement to include public speaking representing company services.
