MATERIAL HANDLING ENGINEER

Primary Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include generating PFDs and P&IDs, developing system conceptual and detail designs, sizing and specifying components & equipment, startup, troubleshooting, and system commissioning. Qualified candidates for this position would have a minimum of ten years experience in developing conceptual and detail designs for bulk material handling systems for coal and biomass operations. Candidate must have strong communication written (documentation) and oral (presentation) skills.
Training and Experience
BS in Mechanical Engineering (or Industrial Engineering) with ten years experience within the bulk material handling engineering design industry is required. Prior consulting experience with PE license preferred. Willingness to travel is required. Candidate will have an understanding of, and experience with, the following activities: materials handling material properties, bottom and rotary rail car unloading, truck unloading systems, barge unloading/loading systems, stacking systems (including fixed conveyor, radial, and linear traveling stackers, lowering wells, silos, storage pile sizing), reclaimers, conveyor systems, crushers& breakers, screens, feeders, transfer chute designs, fuel feed systems, ash handling systems. Candidate will also have a general knowledge of dust suppression and collection, and control & safety features.
