Primary Job Responsibilities
Have a working knowledge of building design, construction detailing, project drawing organization, construction material take-off and estimates, specifying material and products, working knowledge of building codes, AutoCAD and or Microstation drawing ability and have good verbal and written communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design: Develop design alternatives, prepare for and participate in design presentations, develop/prepare design drawings and associated written documents, investigate alternatives and develop materials of construction
Construction Documents: Plan/develop/prepare construction drawings and associated written documents, coordination with other members of the architectural team, coordination with other disciplines, develop in conjunction with specification writers portions or all project specific technical specifications, develop/prepare documentation in support of reviews with code officials. Assist in developing Pro Service estimates adn progress status.
Construction Administration: Review/approve shop drawings and vendor submittals, develop and prepare documentation associated with field based requests for information, review/approve work in the field, prepare and monitor punch lists
Scheduling: Support scheduling effort for the architectural design effort
Estimates:Support for estimates of construction cost including material take-offs and cost opinions. Provide cost saving design alternatives.
Training and Experience
* BS or BA in Architecture at an accredited college or university
* Must be CADD proficient
* LEED Accredited Professional preferred
* Architectural registration required
* Experience in industrial (power, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical) projects preferred
* Minimum of 7 years progressively responsible building design and documentation experience
* Working knowledge of building codes
* Good written and verbal communication skills
