Primary Job Responsibilities
Work in either an office or field environment location. Develop, monitor, track, analyze, forecast, and report on project budgets, estimates to complete, commitments and expenditures, project progress and productivity, work plans and schedules, project costs at completion, WBS cost coding, subcontracts, and change management. Process and certify contractor payment applications. Work closely with project managers, operations managers and accountants. Develops advanced concepts, techniques, and standards; viewed as expert within the corporation. Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity scope that require a high degree of innovation and ingenuity. Work performed under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives. Prime consultant to management and internal and external spokesperson for organization on highly significant, major matters. Maintains project ledgers showing budget line items, commitments, expenditures and forecasts. Ensures the integrity of the project budget through approved scope changes, fiscal changes and contingency reallocations: Verifies invoices and their correct holdback, coding, and allocation: Verifies overhead charges and their distribution: Issues project cost reports including forecast final costs and variances: Flags significant projected overruns or underruns: Ensures final payments of hold back on all contracts and closing of accounts upon project completion.
Training and Experience
BS in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Accounting/Finance. Minimum 10 years position related experience with computer skills using MS Office tools and the most current project management software programs including Prolog. Must have good verbal and written communications skills and a desire to work with details. Experience in both engineering/design and construction facilities type projects as well as with MS Project and earned value performance measurement systems a plus. Must be familiar with construction contractor payment process.
