Description

Must be able to produce and evaluate ultrasound images and related data that are used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis. The Diagnostic Sonographer must acquire and maintain specialized technical skills and medical knowledge to render quality patient care. Must know and perform all clerical/administrative support duties associated within the Department. Should be able to perform the various examinations and procedures as outlined in the department policy and procedure manual.

Recognizes the purpose of employment is to prioritize the patient as number one, and to put forth the utmost quality as a Technologist. Produce the highest quality of ultrasounds, maintain records as required, assist physicians with various U/S procedures as required. Maintain work area in a constant state of readiness.

Qualifications

Education:
High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of accredited ultrasonography course or equivalent on-the job-training program that would allow Sonographer to perform exams to the satisfaction of the Radiologist interpreting the exam.

Experience:
Minimum 6 months experience preferred, or at the discretion of the director, recent graduate of an accredited ultrasonography program.

Licenses/Certificates:
Registered or registry-eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the specific specialties associated with this position.
Must pass registry within two attempts. Current CPR card required.
