Job Description and Qualifications Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for an experienced Manufacturing Cost Engineer at its facility in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

The Senior Manufacturing Cost Engineer at the Wilkes-Barre Plant has the following accountabilities:
• Provide material, labor, and engineering cost estimates for manufactured products. These products include coil-wound heat exchangers, cold boxes, distillation columns, piping systems, and other large cryogenic equipment.
• Develop and maintain procedures, models, and techniques for use in the cost estimating process. Continuously improve these estimating procedures, models, and techniques in order to provide more accurate estimates in a shorter timeframe.
• Work with all plant and engineering functions to ensure estimating tools are current and the estimates produced are accurate.
• Analyze actual cost performance in order to provide variance reporting and feedback to estimating models and techniques.

Qualifications:

• Thorough knowledge of cost estimating techniques and metal fabrication/assembly processes are required. Understanding of cryogenic process plants, related equipment, and applicable codes (e.g., ASME, ANSI, etc.) are pluses.
• A Bachelor of Science in engineering and a minimum of 5 year of industrial experience is required. This experience should be in an engineer-to-order metals fabrication environment.
• Candidates must have very strong Excel skills. Experience developing and maintaining databases (Access or Sequel Server) is strongly preferred. Experience with SAP is also strongly preferred.
• Candidates must have strong communication skills and the ability to take on increasing responsibilities.
