Job Description and Qualifications Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an I&E Technician for its Liberal, KS facility.

Job Description:
This position is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and electrical equipment at the Liberal, KS Helium Facility and associated Truck Terminal.

Applicants must be able to:
- Read blueprints, P&ID's, single-lines, ladder logic, and wiring schematics.
- Repair and troubleshoot analog and discrete instrument loops.
- Effectively use typical test and calibration equipment, including pneumatic calibrators, RTD calibrators, MA calibrators, T/C calibrators, digital and analog multi-meters, meggers, and laptops for equipment communication.
- Follow step-by-step calibration procedures.
- Use computerized systems to enter and retrieve data.
- Troubleshoot and repair 480 VAC 3 phase motor controls as well as 120 VAC control circuits.
- Troubleshoot PLC problems through knowledge of PLC logic and operations.

Work with and troubleshoot the following:

-Pressure, temperature, level and flow measuring equipment
-Pneumatic Controls
-Water analytical equipment, including pH/ORP, Conductivity
-Solenoids
-Limit & Proximity Switches
-Control valves

Qualifications:

- High school diploma/GED
- Trade/Technical degree or apprenticeship in a related field a plus but not required
- Military service in a related field a plus but not required (Aviation Electrician, Electronics Technician, Gas Turbine Technician, etc.)
- Fabrication, wiring and hook up experience of Instrumentation and Electrical equipment.
- Detail oriented and willing to document details appropriately.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault isolation skills.
- Familiar with PLC's & PLC logic
- Experience with Siemens, Bailey or other DCS systems a plus but not required.
- Experience with high voltage switching equipment (4160V and above) a plus but not required.
- Strong personal safety philosophy.
- Very strong organizational skills
- Must be team oriented and have a willingness to learn and further develop technical skills.
