Job Description and Qualifications Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced Production Manager for its Wichita, KS facility.
This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Wichita Performance Materials Plant, located in Wichita KS. The incumbent will be responsible for the safety, environmental compliance, cost management and product quality of the chemical production facilities at the site. He or she will be the direct supervisor of a Production Supervisor, (Production technicians reporting to the Production Supervisor), Engineers, and Laboratory Technicians. The production facilities consist of hydrogenation reactors and corresponding distillation units, utilities and environmental control units. The facility is an OSHA - PSM / RMP regulated facility and the incumbent has compliance responsibilities under EPA - Title V , RCRA, BIF/MACT -2, Deep well and NPDES regulations.
This position reports to the Site Manager of the Wichita PMD Plant.
Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of the following:
- Demonstrated managerial, safety leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to drive Global Operations Programs.
- Experience in management or support of manufacturing operations (industrial gases or chemicals)
- A track record of success in Safety, Environmental, Diversity and Employee Involvement.
- Self-motivated and a demonstrated team player.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 10+ years in manufacturing operations management, maintenance, or engineering roles is desired
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience
