Job Description and Qualifications Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for an experienced Supply Chain Network Optimization Manager.
This position will work as part of the Performance Materials group Supply Chain Integration and Optimization team driving the lowest total cost supply chain network design. The position is responsible for generating ideas, collecting and analyzing data to evaluate those ideas, preparing the organization for those changes, and implementing them. Complementing the design and optimization activities are monitoring and ensuring compliance to the optimal design. In addition to Network Design and Optimization this position will be responsible for other Supply Chain projects to enable better execution and reduce cost.
Responsibilities:
1. Supply Chain Network Design, Optimization and Compliance 70%
• Work with a cross-functional team of Asset Management, Operations, Strategic Sourcing, Tax, Trade Compliance, and Transportation and to generate, develop and implement ideas to lower the total cost of our supply network while maintaining target service levels. Maintain documentation on the basis for the design.
• Monitor the compliance to the designed supply chain network, investigate deviations, and implement corrective actions for those deviations.
• Assist in developing a documented process for Network Design, Optimization and Compliance.
• Educate others on our supply chain network design.
2. Supply Chain Improvement Projects 20%
• Develop and execute supply chain improvement projects ranging from work process improvements to cost reduction.
3. Peer Mentoring 10%
• Work with other project managers in the Supply Chain Integration and Optimization team to guide them in project planning, project execution and change management.

• Experience working in Supply Chain Network Design and Optimization
• Experience scoping, developing and executing projects
• Excellent data mining and analytical skills

• Ability to work in an unstructured, fast-paced environment
• Experience working globally and across cultures
Preferred:
• Experience working with SAP ERP
• Knowledge of Operations Research
• Experience in the Chemicals Industry
• Structured Continuous Improvement skills and experience with Lean and Sigma
• Knowledge of global transportation, International Tax & VAT/GST, Trade Compliance, Customs, Duties, Production Costing, Inventory costing, and Warehouse costing

• Strong influence skills and ability to drive change in a complex global organization
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbally) across different functional groups and levels
• Strong organizational and planning skills

Minimum Educational Level and Professional Certifications:
• B.S. or higher in Engineering or Supply Chain Management
• APICS CPIM certification
Experience:
• 10 years Supply Chain Management experience
• 3 years minimum experience in Supply Chain Network Design and Optimization
Travel Requirements:
• 10% need-based travel to Air Products worldwide locations
