Job Description and Qualifications Air Products & Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a Principal Process Control Engineer at its facility in Baton Route, LA.
This position will be part of team which is responsible for a family of plants located in North America, providing engineering and diagnostic support for all site control system equipment. This includes various Process Automation Systems (PAS), Field instruments & valves, and related loop equipment. Additional responsibility include the long- term planning and support of the PASs with respect to programming, preventive maintenance, and migration. A component of this position is the continual improvement of the sites productivity and reliability as it relates to the process controls.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in one of the major engineering disciplines, 3 to 10 years process controls experience is preferred.
A strong background in control and instrumentation, including valves, transmitters, controllers and PAS is a desired. Proficiency with methods of level, temperature, pressure and flow measurement is required, as well as process knowledge relating to Hydrogen and/or Air Separation processes. Skills related to process control system design, safety systems, system migration, outage planning, organization and communication are highly desirable.
Travel within the US at levels approximately 35% are expected.
