Job Description and Qualifications Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a INTERNATIONAL TAX ATTORNEY at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

This position provides counsel regarding the relevant U.S. and foreign tax implications and planning opportunities relating to Air Products businesses, in particular the Asia region, and global transfer pricing. This position reports to the Senior Tax Counsel.

Work with a broad range of Air Products personnel in developing a wide variety of business and planning opportunities. The majority of the position’s work will be international in focus and will entail counseling and transactional duties. While occasionally some tax compliance involvement may be required, it will not be a primary part of the job’s responsibilities. Additionally, the incumbent will have primary responsibility for coordination of Air Products transfer pricing policies, will need to ensure that the company follows those policies consistently, and will coordinate efforts to ensure that the transfer pricing documentation required by most countries is fully developed and up-to-date.

The position will liaise with foreign financial management and external advisors in the conduct of governmental examinations of foreign affiliate tax returns, and will advise on significant tax positions that the company will take. Where required, the position will assist in directing the conduct of tax appeals and/or litigation.

Foreign travel is not a significant requirement, but an occasional trip is likely. Initially, the major challenge of this position will be to become familiar with the Air Products businesses and how they are positioned in the various countries in the region. Other challenges will include the need to keep abreast of many rapidly developing transactions and to ensure that appropriate and timely tax input is given and acted upon.

Qualifications:
Position requires a JD with 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in a large law firm, a Big 4 accounting firm, and/or within the tax department of a multinational corporation. An undergraduate degree in accounting or finance is desirable, but not a requirement.
