Job Description and Qualifications Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a Site Supervisor at its Middletown Ohio plant.
The Middletown facility currently consist of two (2) ASUs – A-850/A-450 supplying AK Steel, by pipeline, with 1300 tons/day of gaseous Oxygen, 800 tons/day of gaseous Nitrogen, and two (2) small SMR (steam methane reformers) units supplying 80,000 scf/hr. of gaseous H2. The facility also supplies the merchant market with 65 tons/day from the argon purifier plant, as well as 450 tons/day of LiN/LOx from an L-450.
The Middletown Site Supervisor role is a key member of the management team for the Cincinnati/Middletown area. This position will directly lead/train a team of Operators and Mechanics and interface daily with the plant and regional support teams, as well as contractors. The position reports to the Middletown Plant Manager.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Safety performance, reduction of recordable injuries, BSP compliance and process safety management
- Providing environmental, safety and quality training to the operations and maintenance personnel.
- Achieving environmental compliance targets
- Support of all aspects of the day-to-day operation, including troubleshooting plant process problems, directly supervising daily plant activities and driving plant projects.
- Working with the operators and process engineering group to ensure the facility is operating at the highest efficiency possible.
- Identifying maintenance concerns, then developing and implementing corrective/preventative measures.
- Interface with tactical planning and delivery logistics planning to ensure inventory management of the facilities products.
- Interface with regulatory officials to ensure that all health, safety and environmental regulations are complied with.

- Strong plant operating experience in similar plants or operations of similar complexity

- Ability to build and maintain the working relationships with our customers and suppliers at the operating level
