Job Description and Qualifications Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced I&E Technician for its Ashland, KY facility.
Qualifications:
• 3-5 Years of Instrumentation and Electrical Technician background preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and be capable of interacting with a diverse team of people with various backgrounds and interests.
• Willing to carry a pager/cell phone and respond to call-outs during off-hours (nights and weekends) including supporting operation plant startups and vacation coverage.
• A good working knowledge and have good troubleshooting skills on electrical circuits and motors up to and including 480 volts.
• A good working knowledge of control loops and instrumentation and have good troubleshooting skills in this area.
– Capable of using common tools and equipment such as calibration devices and multi-meters.
– Capable of troubleshooting and calibrating common pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters.
– Capable of troubleshooting and repairing common pneumatic control valves with solenoids, positioners, and position feedback devices.
– Capable and willing to troubleshoot and repair process gas analyzers.
– Capable and willing to troubleshoot and repair water treatment analyzers (pH, conductivity and ORP).
• Run conduit and pull wire if necessary.
• Troubleshoot circuits through various control systems such as Siemens and Bailey.
• Able to read technical manuals and maintenance manuals as needed to respond to equipment and instrument failures.
• To maintain the onsite Preventative Maintenance programs including daily and weekly maintenance tasks throughout the facility.
• Capable of learning how to retrieve parts and supplies and follow a work process to order replacement parts and supplies using SAP.
• Maintain personal protective equipment and safety equipment and work in a safe manner.
• Should be prepared to maintain maintenance records in accordance with plant quality, safety and other regulatory procedures.
• Participate in routine safety meetings and maintenance planning and scheduling meetings as required.
• Good record-keeping skills to maintain maintenance filing systems.
• Basic PC proficiency and software knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. SAP experience is a plus.
• Able to expand upon basic computer knowledge as needed to adapt to various maintenance work processes.
• Must be well organized and maintain flexibility to re-adjust to changing priorities, and able to manage multiple projects and be a self-starter.
• Able to safely operate a forklift and man-lift.
• Travel required to other Air Products facilities within the Ashland area or responsibility to support maintenance activities during plant and equipment outages.
• Travel of 10-30% required
