Job Description and Qualifications MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR – PORT ARTHUR / WESTLAKE AREA
Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for its Port Arthur, TX facility.
BASIC FUNCTION
The basic function of the Maintenance Supervisor for the Port Arthur / West Lake area is to provide necessary technical support, to perform, facilitate, direct, and coordinate the maintenance efforts of the Port Arthur and West Lake sites, including the satellites (Lake Charles, Port Neches), under the direction of the Texas Regional Maintenance Manager, with focus on improving plant equipment integrity and reliability at the lowest sustainable cost to Air Products, and consistent with the asset management plan of each facility.
The expectation is that this individual will provide the support to these sites personally, as well as coordinate and direct the area maintenance personnel in providing support. The individual will also utilize the Houston maintenance resources as necessary for specific activities.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND SPECIFIC DUTIES
1. Management of all maintenance activities at the locations of responsibility. Become the single point of contact for Maintenance needs and services.
2. Prepare and administer the Annual Maintenance routine and Major Maintenance budgets for the areas of responsibility.
3. Actively participate in the safety programs, promote and enforce safety rules and good housekeeping methods.
4. Direct and ensure the productivity and capability of any maintenance work force in the area of responsibility.
5. Initiate and drive improvement projects. Lead the continuing effort to raise standards for plant maintenance.
6. Implement maintenance practices that are consistent with regional and global guidelines.
7. Locate and develop local resources for improved plant support.
8. Ensure that an effective PM program is established that is consistent with the Global PM Standards and be responsible for PM compliance.
9. Ensure that effective predictive and integrity based maintenance programs are followed that is consistent with regional programs that reduces unplanned shutdowns and ultimately enhances overall Plant profitability and product quality.
10. Implement best practices, change management, and standardization of maintenance systems and work processes across the plants in the area of responsibility.
11. Periodically evaluate program's effectiveness and modify accordingly to insure optimum reliability/cost benefits are maintained.
12. Work with operations counterparts to develop areas for productivity improvements and better utilization of assets. Support development and execution of FCN’s and EAR’s.
13. Actively develop and take responsibility for short and long range planning and execution of essential programs, turnarounds, and equipment maintenance schedules.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
-5+ years previous Maintenance Supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility
-High School Diploma/GED
