Position Description
The purpose of this position is to develop and conduct new personnel and performance improvement training, based on analysis of job and system tasks.
Design and develop appropriate course materials: manuals, visual aides, job aides and exercises to conduct training. Create, evaluate, revise and maintain performance support systems (i.e., tutorials, on-line help, Lotus Notes databases) and curriculum. Conduct training for all business functions related to the operational areas supported.
Participate with management and subject matter experts in needs analysis to determine and recommend appropriate performance interventions. Engage in business issues research and recommend process, procedural and content changes.
Assess progress of each trainee and provide summary of training completed, training to be completed and relevant comments to management.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
High school diploma, plus 6 years related experience or Bachelors Degree with 3 years experience. Completion of or actively pursuing completion of LOMA 1, 2, 3, 4 and ACS designation.
Proficient in PC applications to include, but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software. Strong organizational, administrative and presentation skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills with solid interpersonal expertise. Must be knowledgeable of tasks, practices, procedures and systems used in insurance operations. Effective research/analytical skills with attention to detail. Proven ability to manage and prioritize a variety of assignments concurrently. Must demonstrate creativity, flexibility and problem-solving skills.
Professional, tactful and discrete when handling sensitive and/or confidential information. Capable of maintaining objectivity and composure under stress. Be a model for accepting, supporting and implementing change. Competent to structure and provide information and guidance to a varying audience.
Provide routine and non-routine guidance, assistance and training to others.
Anticipate, identify, eliminate and resolve problems (procedural and technical) in areas of assignment. According to performance objectives, analyze collected and organized written and verbal facts, information and documentation. Summarize findings from reviewing routine work samples and provide overall assessment of needs or progress of the department.
Highly interactive with employees, management and internal customers at all levels. Strong customer focused orientation is essential. Compose and provide information and assistance with effective, clear, comprehensive and accurate documentation and business communications to internal and external audiences. Able to speak clearly and concisely with management, employees and customers in one-on-one and group settings. Work with cross-site training departments to leverage knowledge and documentation.
Performance can be measured by such indicators as (1) Accuracy of training information (2) Outcomes of improvement projects/efforts (3) Timeliness of work completed and (4) Customer satisfaction/feedback.
