Position Description
Position Summary:

The Strategic Planning Financial Analyst is an integral member of the Strategic Planning team, working closely with senior management to develop, analyze and review business performance as well as a variety of corporate and restructuring activities. A motivated individual with a demonstrated understanding of finance and accounting is required.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated an exceptional academic record, with a focus in an area related to corporate finance or mathematics.

Job Description:

o Develop comprehensive financial analyses of pending and proposed corporate activities, working closely with AIG’s senior management
o Conduct analyses and craft presentations for AIG’s senior management, Board of Directors and shareholders
o Execute a variety of corporate projects in partnership with members of Finance, Comptrollers, Treasury, Tax, Accounting Policy, Risk Management, Investor Relations and Legal

Position Requirements
Skills and Knowledge Needed:

o Bachelor’s degree from a top university, preferably in a quantitative field (e.g. finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, engineering)
o Ability to multitask and work well under pressure, maintain strong attention to detail and prioritize work within tight deadlines
o Corporate finance, financial modeling, business valuation and accounting skills recommended
o Advanced knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
o Self-starter, quick-learner and flexible team-player
o Existing knowledge of Bloomberg a plus
o Demonstrate professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information
