Position Description
Responsibilities:

The Risk Assessments Program within Enterprise Risk Management is looking for a Lead Developer with a Java and Oracle (PL/SQL) background.

The lead developer will be responsible for designing, architecting and implementing comprehensive business-facing solutions for Enterprise Risk Management. As a lead developer, the candidate will also be expected to mentor junior team members and coordinate development efforts with the business, the offshore team, DBAs as well as database and ETL developers. The successful candidate will have several years of Java OOP programming experience combined with experience in database development and data modelling. User interface design skills will also be required to deliver ergonomic applications that meet the business need.

Position Requirements
Job Requirements:
• 5-7 years hands on J2EE development experience in a Web environment.
• 2+ years experience working with the IBM Websphere Suite (Websphere Application Server, Rational Application Developer/Eclipse).
• 2+ years experience as a lead developer mentoring and managing junior team members.
• Knowledge of Java Design Patterns and how they fit into n-tier application architectures.
• Detailed knowledge of JSF, Struts, Spring, EJB 3.0 and Data Persistence Technologies (Hibernate, etc.)
• Detailed working knowledge of PL/SQL (Oracle 10g) including the ability to design and optimize complex queries.
• Basic knowledge of the financial services industry is required.
• Insurance and Risk Management Experience is a strong plus.
• Must have a strong understanding of project planning vis a vis the software development lifecycle (Agile and Waterfall).
• Strong time management skills and proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet all schedules.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
