Position Description
The incumbent will support special projects for the Treasury Department of AIG Inc.
Position Description:
• Draft Tax Accounting Reviews to SR management business cases and capital market transactions being contemplated by AIG. Assist in drafting board presentations.
• Prepare and analyze quarterly estimated tax payments based on corporate tax accrual analysis and financial statements.
• Prepare variance analyses comparing tax return filing position to estimated payments and quarterly provision.
• Assist in the creation and development of the Treasury Department Tax Compliance Manual.
• Support the integration of tax software products.
• Prepare and present ad hoc analyses to C suite executives and the Fed
• Review tax accounting risks and compliance issues regarding capital markets transactions
• Work closely with the Tax Directors of major AIG subsidiaries including Chartis, Sun America, American General, VALIC, ILFC and AGF, etc, to reconcile quarterly tax payments and estimates to be paid to/from AIG Inc. to its subsidiaries. This role is highly visible.
Position Requirements:
• Detailed knowledge of accounting/tax accounting terminology, concepts, practices and procedures. CPA licensed preferred
• Detailed knowledge of tax compliance and FAS 109/FIN 48 requirements. Demonstrated Oral and written communication skills. Articulate complex tax knowledge in layman’s terms to non tax senior executives
• Knowledge of tax accounting rules and concepts.
• Knowledge of tax compliance software (preferably CorpTax).
• Knowledge of operations in the insurance and/or financial services industry.
• PC skills of MS Office products including intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
