Position Description
Position Description - The incumbent is responsible for the following:
• Global O&S Provide MIS support for the monthly financial management processes and the monthly reporting processes for Global Operations & Systems Organization. This includes:
The Global annual IT and Ops budgeting process.
Quarterly Operations financial reporting processes, including forecasting when required.
Monthly performance packages for Global IT and Operations.
Ad hoc O&S financial reporting.
Provide Clarity support for the group:
The incumbent will dialogue with the IT staff in Corporate Controllers to ensure that templates in the system accurately reflect reporting requirements (e.g., template additions and modifications, report enhancements and hierarchy maintenance) and the system is operational.
The incumbent is responsible to ensure that other elements related to Clarity are updated (e.g., loading Parent Company data from Corporate Clarity).
The incumbent needs to be well versed in the operation of the O&S and Schedule 65 Series (Divestiture) Clarity databases.
Develop and maintain presentation quality reports derived from Clarity extracts. This function utilizes a combination of advanced Essbase, Excel and Visual Basic (VBA) techniques.
• CAO
Provide MIS support for various reporting requests from the CAO, such as Global Professional Service Fees
• Restructuring
Provide MIS support for Divestiture/Restructuring reporting. This includes producing and reviewing quarter-end files used to discuss the financial submissions with the business units.
Position Scope - The scope of the position is:
• Global IT and Operations across all BU’s within AIG.
• Position addresses all aspects of financial management across the IT and operations environment. Estimated scope of financial responsibilities to be approximately $3.5B+ dollars.
• Support to CAO, including Professional Service Fees and Restructuring reporting.
Position Requirements
Key Skills or Attributes
• MIS background.
• Ability to do data mining quickly, efficiently and accurately.
• Knowledge of Clarity and Essbase.
• Familiarity with Excel macros and VBA.
• Understanding of planning, forecasting, reporting and analysis processes.
• Ability to compile and analyze financial data and report high quality information concisely and appropriately.
• Strong financial and operational analysis skills.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Good team player. Able to interact with both technologists and finance staff.
• Undergraduate degree in business, MIS or related field. Advanced degree desirable.
• 8 years experience in a similar environment, with demonstrated skill and responsibility growth.
• Knowledge of financial and operational software applications.
• Knowledge of various applications development techniques, platforms and tools.
