Smith International, Inc., a Fortune 500 Company, is a leading supplier of premium products and services to the oil and gas exploration and production industry, the petrochemical industry and other industrial markets. We are seeking to hire a qualified candidate to fill the position of Executive Sales Representative in Pittsburgh, PA.
Job Description:
The primary function of the Executive Sales Rep. will be to develop and grow Smith’s market share focusing on operators and drilling contractors in the North East United States based out of Pittsburgh, PA. marketing whipstocks, stabilization, tubular sales, hardbanding, inspection and machine shop services. Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:
* Making office calls and sales/technical presentations to key decision makers within assigned accounts
* Initiate cold calls on new accounts
* Attend career development and training course to improve proficiency in critical business/technical skills
* Ensure all employee activities are executed in a manner that conforms to Smith’s corporate QHSE management system guidelines and initiatives
* Submit sales reports as deemed necessary by immediate Supervisor
* Maintain and provide appropriate customer data files
Job Requirements:
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Undergraduate Degree in Sales/Marketing or Engineering preferred
* Minimum 10+ years of oilfield sales/marketing experience (preferred)
* Solid general knowledge of oilfield operations
* Broad understanding of drilling rigs
* knowledge of Smith Services tools and services including whipstocks, stabilization, tubulars, inspection and hardbanding
* Must be willing to work extended hours and travel
* Strong customer focus and ability to relate well to others, internally and externally
* Ability to manage relationships/possess excellent networking skills
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
* Good problem-solving and negotiating skills
* Self-starter with an ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
