Description:

SUMMARY



The EDI Analyst is responsible for developing, testing, and implementing the maps, envelopes, business processes and schedules required to conduct EDI transactions with both current and future trading partners. These transactions include the processing of purchase orders, acknowledgements, invoices and any other maps required by the business for EDI translation and communications.



Candidate must have prior experience with Gentran Integration Suite 4.1 - 4.3 and SAP 4.7. This position will report to the Manager, Application Development and is expected to work with both internal and external stakeholders; including trading partners, customer service, finance and distribution. In addition, it is required that the candidate possess strong communication and documentation skills.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Use Sterling Commerce’s Sterling Integrator Map Editor (v. 5.3) to develop and test new maps, and implement changes to existing maps. This experience should include at least the following (ANSI X12 standard):

o 850 – Purchase Orders

o 855 – Purchase Order Acknowledgement

o 856 – Advance Ship Notice

o 810 – Invoice

o 860 - Purchase Order Change Request

o 830 – Planning schedule with Release Capability

o 997 – Functional Acknowledgement.

· As appropriate; develop, test, and implement all necessary envelopes, business processes, and schedules.

· Assist in coordinating with the network team, database administration team, and internal and external partners to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of the EDI system.

· As appropriate, create and edit EDI system documentation.

· As needed, work with the EDI Coordinator and Network Administrator to install GIS products, patches, and upgrades.





EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES

· College degree required.

· 3 – 5 years functional knowledge of EDI (ANSI X 12 standards).

· 1 – 3 years experience with Gentran Integration Suite product (v 4.1 - 4.3), including the development of maps, envelopes, business processes, and schedules.

· Experience in integrating EDI transactions inbound and outbound with SAP (v 4.7).

· Strong understanding of IDOC configuration.

· Strong verbal and written communications skills.

· Strong documentation skills. Be prepared to discuss or demonstrate evidence of this.

· Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact effectively and professionally with the business users, including members of the executive management team.

· Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and data analysis skills.

· Experience in working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
