Line of Business: LOAN SERVICES Job Category: Office / Administrative / Client Service Primary Purpose: Supports Direct Retail Lending, Small Business Banking, Business Loan Administration, Vine Street Financial, and Sales Finance porfolios through the review of complex loan documentation for the life of each loan. Communicates compliance, legal, and policy requirements and provides problem resolution to the Banking Network. Processes, monitors, and researches complex loan documentation for these portfolios while providing an exceptional level of quality, risk management, and efficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other Duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. 1. Mitigates risk by performing a compliance, legal, and policy review of complex loan documentation including new loans and lines of credit, modification agreements, corrected documents and adverse action documents. 2. Ensures proper lien position on collateral pledged to retail and business loans. 3. Ensures collateral pledged to retail and business loans has sufficient hazard insurance coverage. 4. Maintains the documentation exception system to ensure accurate reporting of exceptions to the Banking Network. 5. Ensures the accuracy of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act Loan Application Register (HMDA LAR) and the Community Reinvestment Act Loan Application Register (CRA LAR) to mitigate compliance and regulatory risk. 6. Updates and verifies the collateral record on the appropriate loan system. 7. Monitors lien position by recording Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and other pertinent expiration dates on the loan system. 8. Communicates compliance, legal, and policy requirements and provides problem resolution through incoming and outbound contacts while educating the caller to increase client productivity. 9. Maintains expert knowledge of compliance, legal, and policy issues regarding loan documentation including state specific requirements. 10. Provides support to the Banking Network, Business Loan Administration, Small Business Loan Administration, Vine Street Financial, Direct Retail Lending, Sales Finance and Loan Services personnel regarding documentation on retail and business loans. 11. Provides guidance to less experienced associates through mentoring and assisting with escalated issues. 12. Maintains expert knowledge of loan processing systems and utilize for specialized support within the business unit. 13. Assists with internal/external audits, reports, and other special projects as assigned. Five to ten years of banking or financial service experience including three years of documentation experience 3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills 4. Thorough knowledge of loan systems and loan documentation processes 8. Technical skills to include Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows system 9. Previous client service experience 10. Flexibility regarding scheduling and job expectations 11. Ability to identify, analyze, resolve, and assist other associates with complex documentation related problems 12. Leadership skills and ability to initiate positive change 13.
